About Alyth Golf Club

Alyth Golf Club lies on the Angus side of the Angus-Perthshire border in eastern Scotland, close to the village of Alyth itself, a small settlement in the agricultural strath between the Sidlaw Hills and the southern edge of the Grampians. This part of Angus sits at the transition between the fertile lowland farming of Strathmore and the rising ground toward the Highlands proper, giving the area views north toward hill country that many lowland Scottish courses lack. The course is laid out as heathland, a terrain less common in this part of Scotland than links or parkland, with tree cover shaping much of the layout. Alyth village itself is a small former market town serving the surrounding farming district, quieter and less visited than the larger Perthshire towns such as Blairgowrie and Pitlochry to its north and west. For golfers touring this stretch of eastern Scotland, Alyth's position on the Angus-Perthshire boundary makes it a natural stop between the Strathmore courses and the Highland approaches further north, in a rural setting rather than an urban golfing centre.
