About Aqualate Golf Club

Aqualate Golf Club is laid out within the grounds of the Aqualate estate near Newport in Shropshire, playing over 5,788 yards to a par of 69 across its eighteen holes. Though not a long course by modern standards, the layout demands a golfer's full attention on a number of holes, with out of bounds running down both sides of the opening stretch and bunkers positioned to catch loose tee shots on several early holes. The 1st and 10th, a shared 303-yard par four, sets the tone with out of bounds bordering the car park on one side and the driving range on the other, alongside fairway bunkers positioned around the 220-yard mark. Mature woodland and a series of lakes are features of the wider estate, giving the course a settled, established feel typical of parkland golf laid out within a former country estate. The club describes itself as offering a friendly environment and a warm welcome to visitors and members alike. Newport sits in north-eastern Shropshire, close to the Staffordshire border, in an area of gently farmed lowland rather than the county's hillier southern reaches. For golfers seeking a shorter but still testing parkland round, Aqualate's estate setting and tighter early holes make it a worthwhile stop in this part of Shropshire.
