About Longhirst Hall Golf Course

Longhirst Hall Golf Course, near Morpeth in Northumberland, is built around two contrasting 18-hole layouts sharing the same estate grounds. One course draws on an American lakeland style, with water features brought into play across a number of holes, while the other, known as the Old Course, follows a more traditional routing through the Northumberland countryside. The Old Course has recently been reworked into its current 18-hole form, a change visitors have noted has improved the flow of the round and the overall condition of the layout. Set within the grounds of Longhirst Hall, the courses benefit from mature parkland and open countryside typical of this part of Northumberland, giving golfers a varied test depending on which layout they choose to play. The estate setting also supports a clubhouse used for social events alongside the golf itself. Visitor feedback has generally highlighted the atmosphere around the course and clubhouse as a strong point of a visit. With two distinct courses on one site, Longhirst Hall offers golfers based in or travelling through Morpeth a choice between a water-featured American-style test and a more classic parkland round on the same grounds.
