Mobberley Golf Club
About Mobberley Golf Club
Mobberley sits in the Cheshire countryside a few miles north-east of Knutsford, in the belt of villages between Manchester Airport and the Cheshire Plain that has become known for equestrian estates and large private gardens as much as farming. The golf club takes its name from the village itself, one of the larger parishes in this part of Cheshire, with a landscape of hedged fields, small woods and the heavy, well-watered soil typical of the plain. Knutsford, the nearest town, developed as a coaching stop on the road between Manchester and Chester and retains a Georgian high street, while the wider area has grown wealthier through its proximity to Manchester Airport and the motorway network around the M56. The flat to gently rolling ground around Mobberley contrasts with the Peak District foothills visible to the east, and the WA16 postcode area sits firmly within commuting distance of both Manchester and Chester, giving the club a mixed catchment of local and city-based golfers.
