About New Forest Golf Club

New Forest Golf Club is set within the New Forest National Park close to Lyndhurst, on a mature parkland course shaped by the surrounding ancient woodland. Fairways run beneath established trees for much of the round, while other holes open onto heathland ground at the fringes of the course, giving a mix of enclosed, wooded holes and more open stretches within a single layout. The National Park setting brings resident wildlife onto the course itself, a feature of golf in this part of Hampshire that sets it apart from parkland courses elsewhere. Lyndhurst, often described as the unofficial capital of the New Forest, sits close by, putting the club within easy reach of the wider forest's villages, heathland and woodland walks for visitors extending their stay beyond a round of golf. The combination of parkland golf and genuine forest surroundings, including the free movement of ponies and other animals typical of the New Forest, gives the course a character distinct from more conventional inland layouts found elsewhere in the county.
