Silsden Golf Club
About Silsden Golf Club
Silsden Golf Club is located near Keighley, in the Aire Valley on the western edge of the Bradford district in West Yorkshire. The town of Silsden sits close to where the valley begins to give way to the southern fringe of the Yorkshire Dales, placing the club on ground that transitions from valley floor toward rising moorland countryside further north and west. Keighley, the nearest larger town, provides the main service centre for the area, with Silsden itself a smaller settlement historically built around textile milling before developing into a residential town within commuting distance of both Keighley and the wider Aire Valley towns. Golf clubs in this stretch of the valley typically serve a mix of local members from Silsden and neighbouring villages alongside golfers travelling up from Keighley or further down the valley toward Bingley and Shipley. Its position keeps Silsden Golf Club within a cluster of Aire Valley courses without needing to travel into Leeds or Bradford for a round, and the surrounding landscape, valley pasture rising toward Dales-edge moorland, gives the club a setting shared with several other West Yorkshire clubs positioned along this same river corridor between the Pennines and the Bradford conurbation.
