About Whetstone Golf Club

Whetstone Golf Club lies near the village of Whetstone in south Leicestershire, a short distance from the neighbouring village of Cosby and within easy reach of junction 21 of the M1. The course follows a parkland layout across relatively compact grounds, with greens kept in good order for club and recreational play rather than championship-length golf. Whetstone sits along the old Fosse Way route and has grown as a commuter village serving Leicester, a few miles to the north-east, while retaining a village centre and surrounding farmland typical of this part of the county. The wider south Leicestershire landscape is gently rolling arable country, crossed by the Fosse Way and several smaller lanes linking villages such as Cosby, Countesthorpe and Enderby. The club's accessible layout suits golfers looking for a shorter, less demanding round than the county's larger parkland courses offer, while its proximity to the motorway network gives it a convenient position for visitors travelling from further afield. As with many smaller clubs in the area, the course forms part of a cluster of golfing venues within a few miles of one another around the southern fringes of Leicester.

Where to find it

The address is Cambridge Road, Cosby, Leicestershire, LE9 1SJ. It is about 7.4 miles from Leicester. It is about 15 miles from Coventry. Those are straight-line distances. The sidebar links to the club website and lists its phone number. The map below shows the exact spot, because that helps with satnav.

Check the club website for tee times, because visitor rules differ by club. Ask for the current green fee, since we do not list one. Pack a waterproof layer, because UK weather changes fast.
