About Arkley Golf Club

Arkley lies on the northern fringe of the London Borough of Barnet, close to where the city's suburbs meet the Hertfordshire countryside beyond the M25. The club operates a nine-hole course, one of a smaller number of shorter-format clubs serving golfers in this part of north London who want a round without a long drive out of the city. This corner of Barnet sits on notably high ground for the capital, part of London's protected Green Belt, an area of working farmland, hedged fields and pockets of older woodland that have kept development at bay even as the suburbs have spread north from Finchley and Mill Hill. Golfers based in this part of London have Arkley as one of the more local options, set back from the busier arterial roads that cross this stretch of the city's edge. The setting reflects the mixed rural-urban character typical of Barnet's northern boundary, neither fully countryside nor fully city, with Hertfordshire beginning just beyond it.

Where to find it

The address is Rowley Green Road, Barnet, Greater London, EN5 3HL. It is about 11 miles from London. That is a straight-line distance. The sidebar links to the club website and lists its phone number. The map below shows the exact spot, because that helps with satnav.

Check the club website for tee times, because visitor rules differ by club. Ask for the current green fee, since we do not list one. Pack a waterproof layer, because UK weather changes fast.
