Capel Bangor Golf & Country Club takes its name from the village of Capel Bangor, a few miles inland from Aberystwyth in Ceredigion, the mid-Wales county running along Cardigan Bay. The club sits in the Rheidol valley, through which the River Rheidol flows down from the hills towards Aberystwyth and the sea, an area known for the narrow-gauge Vale of Rheidol Railway as much as for its farmland and forestry.
