About Goal Farm Golf Club

Goal Farm Golf Course is located near Woking in Surrey, in the heathland and pine-woodland country that runs through much of the western part of the county. Woking itself sits within the commuter belt southwest of London, on sandy, well-drained soil that has historically supported both heathland habitat and a concentration of golf courses, since the same ground conditions that produce heather and pine woodland also tend to drain well and hold up under regular play. The wider area around Goal Farm includes a mix of woodland, heath and reclaimed agricultural land, typical of the transition zone between London's outer suburbs and the more rural stretches of west Surrey further from the city. Golf courses in this part of Surrey range from long championship layouts to shorter, more accessible courses aimed at newer players, and the sandy heathland terrain tends to favour courses that can be built and maintained without extensive drainage work. For golfers based around Woking, Goal Farm offers a course within this heathland belt, convenient for regular play without travelling into the more built-up parts of the county further east toward Guildford and the M25 corridor.
