About High Elms Golf Club

High Elms Golf Club is a public course within High Elms Country Park in the London Borough of Bromley, close to Orpington on the southeastern edge of the capital. Because it operates as a public facility rather than a private members' club, tee times are open to any golfer without the need for a club membership, making it one of the more accessible courses in outer London. The course runs through mature woodland that forms part of the wider country park, with trees bordering much of the layout and shaping the way holes are played. High Elms Country Park itself is known locally for its network of walking trails and its chalk grassland, sitting within the North Downs landscape that extends south from Bromley towards Kent. The combination of a public golf course and a managed country park on the same site means the grounds see use from walkers and naturalists as well as golfers, giving the area around the course a more varied, shared character than a typical private club. Its position within the M25 boundary, yet surrounded by green belt land, makes High Elms a convenient option for golfers based in south east London and the northern fringes of Kent.
