Park Hill Golf Club
About Park Hill Golf Club
Park Hill Golf Club lies near Loughborough, on the Leicestershire side of the county boundary with Nottinghamshire, within the postcode area covering the Wolds villages to the south-east of the town. Loughborough itself is a market town on the River Soar, long associated with bell founding through the Taylor's foundry, and now home to Loughborough University and a large student population alongside its older market trade. The surrounding countryside forms part of the Leicestershire and South Nottinghamshire Wolds, gently rolling farmland scattered with small villages such as Wysall and Rempstone, quite different in character from the flatter Soar valley closer to the town centre. Charnwood Forest, with its outcrops of ancient volcanic rock and pockets of heath and woodland, lies to the west of Loughborough and forms one of the more distinctive landscapes of the East Midlands. The preserved Great Central Railway heritage line also passes through the area, linking Loughborough with Leicester and sites further into Nottinghamshire. This corner of Leicestershire sits away from the county's larger towns, bordered by open farmland and the low hills that give the Wolds their name, with Loughborough itself the nearest centre for shops and services.
