About Dunham Forest Golf Club

Dunham Forest is a members' club near Altrincham in Cheshire, with a parkland course routed through mature woodland that gives the fairways a consistently leafy, enclosed character across most of the round. The trees that give the club its name provide shelter and definition to individual holes, distinguishing the course from more open parkland layouts found elsewhere in the Cheshire and Greater Manchester area. As a long-established club, Dunham Forest has built a settled membership drawn from Altrincham and the surrounding Cheshire towns, with the wooded course forming the consistent backdrop to club competitions and social golf. The Altrincham setting places the club within the affluent commuter belt south of Manchester, an area with a number of established golf clubs sharing similarly wooded, parkland terrain. The mature woodland that defines Dunham Forest's course has developed over a long period, giving the layout a settled, well-grown character rather than the newer plantings found on more recently built courses in the region.
