About Lytham Green Drive Golf Club

Lytham Green Drive Golf Club was founded in 1913 and has since built a competitive pedigree that includes serving as an Open Championship qualifying course in 1974, 1979 and 1988. The 18-hole parkland layout is notable for its flat, easy walking, without the strenuous elevation changes found on some neighbouring courses, though buggies and pull trolleys remain available to hire for golfers who prefer not to walk. Set in Lytham St Annes, on the Fylde coast of Lancashire, the club has built a reputation over many years through feedback from visiting golfers and guests, who are said to find a consistently warm welcome and friendly atmosphere before and after their round. A terrace area has been added in recent years, giving members and visitors a place to eat or have a drink either side of their game. The club's qualifying history for the Open places it among a select group of courses that have hosted competitive rounds tied to golf's oldest major championship, even though the club itself sits apart from the larger links courses more commonly associated with the area. Its flat, walkable layout makes it accessible to a wide range of golfers regardless of fitness or age.
