About North Downs Golf Club

North Downs Golf Club is set among the chalk hills of the North Downs near Woldingham and Warlingham, on the Surrey side of the Croydon and Caterham area. The eighteen-hole course makes use of the downland terrain typical of this stretch of the Downs, with the chalk ridge giving the ground a firmer, more undulating character than the clay parkland found further into Surrey. The club offers a partner scheme for visitors, giving access to discounted golf and event bookings along with use of a golf-booking app and further clubhouse savings. This corner of Surrey, straddling the boundary with Reigate and Banstead, sits within commuting distance of both Croydon and central London via the M25 and the railway line through Caterham, while retaining open countryside along the Downs themselves. The chalk grassland and beech woodland characteristic of the North Downs gives clubs in this area a distinctive look compared with the sandy heathland courses found further south around Surrey's greensand ridge. North Downs Golf Club's location within this landscape, combined with its visitor partnership arrangements, positions it as one of a cluster of established clubs along the Surrey stretch of the Downs.

Where to find it

Check the club website for tee times, because visitor rules differ by club. Ask for the current green fee, since we do not list one. Pack a waterproof layer, because UK weather changes fast.
