About Chartham Park Golf And Country Club

Chartham Park Golf and Country Club, near East Grinstead in West Sussex, plays over eighteen holes to a par of 72. East Grinstead sits at the eastern edge of the Weald close to the Surrey and Kent borders, in wooded, hilly country that has attracted a cluster of golf and country club developments within commuting distance of both London and Gatwick. The club combines its golf course with a wider leisure offer, including gym, pool and spa facilities, a format increasingly common among Wealden clubs that position themselves as country club destinations rather than golf-only venues. The surrounding landscape is characteristic Sussex Weald: sandstone ridges, mixed woodland and small fields, quite different from the open downland further south or the flatter farmland north of the M25. East Grinstead itself is a historic market town with a mainline rail link into London, making Chartham Park accessible both to local members and to visitors combining a round with a day trip from the capital. Its par-72 layout places it at a standard length for a full eighteen-hole course in this part of the county.
