Deeside Golf Club

Deeside Golf Club takes its name from the River Dee, which flows through Aberdeen on its way from the Cairngorms to the North Sea, and the club sits within the city's western AB15 postcode area where Aberdeen's suburbs meet the river's lower valley. Deeside proper, the string of towns and villages including Peterculter, Banchory and Aboyne that follows the river upstream towards Royal Deeside and Balmoral, begins a short distance further west, but even within the city boundary this stretch of the valley retains a wooded, riverside character distinct from Aberdeen's granite-built centre. The city itself, Scotland's third largest, sits at the mouth of the Dee and Don, with North Sea oil and gas long dominating its economy, though its western fringes along the river valley have remained comparatively green and residential. The club's position gives it easy access both into Aberdeen city centre and out along the Deeside road towards the more rural Aberdeenshire countryside upriver.
