Ganstead Park Golf Club began life in 1976 as a nine-hole course a few miles east of Hull, and has since grown into a full eighteen-hole layout that the club now describes as being of championship standard. Over the decades since its founding, the club moved from being a proprietary business to member ownership, with the current members having bought out the club from its previous private owners. The course is set on easy-walking ground, within reach of the historic market town of Beverley and not far from the beaches and seaside towns along the East Yorkshire coast. That coastal proximity, combined with its position just outside Hull, gives the club a location that works both for local members and for visiting groups travelling into the area. Societies are well catered for, with packages ranging from a shorter Birdie option through to a full Championship day, including custom catering and support for groups of eight or more, with society rates starting from around forty pounds per person. The clubhouse includes a pro shop alongside the golfing facilities. Now well past its fiftieth year, Ganstead Park has established itself as one of the longer-standing courses in the East Riding, having expanded considerably from its original nine-hole beginnings.
