Haydock Park Golf Club is an eighteen-hole parkland layout in Newton-le-Willows, laid out originally by James Braid. The course is kept playable through the year, with temporary greens used only rarely rather than as a routine winter measure. Visitors are welcomed to play and are encouraged to make use of the clubhouse afterwards, where the lounge and dining areas look out over the closing green. Tee times can be booked online or through the professional's shop up to five days in advance, and the club asks that visiting golfers observe its dress code and keep to a reasonable pace of play. Green fees run from £45 on weekdays up to £55 at weekends for eighteen holes, and golf societies are asked to arrange their visits directly through the club office. Regular players return for the general standard of upkeep across the course rather than for any single standout feature, and the clubhouse itself has built a reputation as a comfortable stop before or after a round. The club continues to operate as both a members' club and a regular host to visiting golfers and societies across the season, with Newton-le-Willows and the wider Haydock area providing a well-placed base for those travelling to play.
