Northamptonshire County Golf Club

🤍

Northamptonshire County Golf Club is set at Chapel Brampton, a village a few miles north-west of Northampton on the edge of Harlestone Firs and the belt of sandy, wooded heathland that runs along this stretch of the county. It's an unusual landscape for the East Midlands, where ironstone clay and heavy farmland dominate elsewhere in Northamptonshire, but the ridge around Chapel Brampton and neighbouring Church Brampton sits on lighter, free-draining sandy soil that has long supported pine and birch woodland rather than arable fields. The village itself is small, with the surrounding parish largely given over to this mix of forestry and farmland, and it lies close to the A428 and A5199, giving reasonably direct access from Northampton and the villages of the Nene valley to the east. The county town of Northampton, a few miles south-east, provides the nearest significant centre for members and visitors travelling to the club from further afield.
