About Poult Wood Golf Club

Poult Wood Golf Club is set in woodland just north of Tonbridge in Kent, within the Weald of Kent's wooded, undulating countryside rather than the more open farmland found elsewhere in the county. Operating on a pay-and-play basis, the club allows golfers to book and play without needing club membership, a model that has made it a regular stop for casual golfers and visiting groups from across west Kent. The wooded setting shapes much of the course, with trees forming natural boundaries between holes and giving the layout a self-contained, sheltered feel compared with more exposed inland courses in the county. Tonbridge itself sits on the River Medway, a historic market town with a Norman castle at its centre, and the surrounding area combines commuter housing with pockets of ancient woodland typical of the Kent Weald. Public golf facilities of this kind have long played a role in introducing new golfers to the game, offering flexible access without the commitment of a private club, and Poult Wood's position within easy reach of Tonbridge and the wider Tunbridge Wells area supports that role for golfers across the district. The centre continues to serve as an accessible entry point into golf for the local community around Tonbridge.
