Pyle & Kenfig Golf Club
Pyle & Kenfig Golf Club is in Kenfig, on the Glamorgan coast of south Wales, under postcode CF33. This part of the coast, between Porthcawl and Port Talbot, is dominated by one of the largest dune systems in Europe, the Kenfig Burrows, now managed as a national nature reserve for its rare plants and the flooded medieval village of Kenfig buried somewhere beneath the sand. Glamorgan itself was historically one of the most industrial parts of Wales, with steelworks and collieries inland, yet this stretch of coastline near Kenfig has remained largely undeveloped duneland running down to the sea. The club sits within that landscape, between the built-up areas of Bridgend and Port Talbot and the open sands of the reserve. Visitors combining a round here with the wider area can walk the Kenfig reserve's dune trails or explore Porthcawl a few miles along the coast, making the golf part of a broader day out on this section of the Glamorgan shoreline.
