Regent Park Golf Club
Regent Park Golf Club is set on the western side of Bolton, in Greater Manchester, close to the West Pennine Moors that rise between the town and the Lancashire coast. The BL6 postcode covers this edge of Bolton, an area shaped by the town's industrial past as a cotton-spinning centre, where former mill towns now sit against open moorland used for walking, cycling and reservoirs supplying the wider conurbation. Rivington Pike and the reservoirs around Horwich lie a few miles to the north-west, and the moors themselves form a green buffer between Bolton and Chorley. Bolton grew up along the River Croal, a tributary of the Irwell, and the surrounding landscape moves quickly from dense urban terraces to open hill country, a contrast that shapes much of the town's recreational land, including the parks and golf courses that sit within this transition zone.
