Wernddu Golf Centre
Wernddu Golf Centre is in Abergavenny, at the eastern edge of Wales close to the border with Herefordshire and Gloucestershire, under postcode NP7. Abergavenny sits at the meeting point of several valleys, ringed by the Black Mountains to the north and the Sugar Loaf and Skirrid hills nearby, and is often described as a gateway town for the Brecon Beacons National Park, now known as Bannau Brycheiniog. The town itself is a market centre with a long history, its castle ruins overlooking the confluence of the Usk and Gavenny rivers. Golf facilities in and around Abergavenny sit within this hill-country setting, a landscape of steep-sided valleys and open moorland tops that draws walkers and cyclists as much as golfers. The centre's location puts it within easy reach of both the National Park boundary to the north and the market town amenities of Abergavenny itself, making it a convenient stop for anyone travelling between south Wales and the Marches border country.
