Wyboston Lakes Golf Centre

🤍

Wyboston sits in the far northeast corner of Bedfordshire, close to the point where the county meets Cambridgeshire, just south of St Neots on the Great Ouse. The village grew up along the old Great North Road, now bypassed by the A1, and the wider area is known for the string of flooded gravel pits that followed decades of aggregate extraction along the river valley. Those old workings were turned into a set of lakes that now anchor a leisure and conference site on the edge of the village, with watersports and outdoor activities alongside the accommodation and business facilities built around them. The Ouse valley here is flat, low-lying ground, criss-crossed by drainage channels and given over largely to arable farming beyond the settled areas. St Neots itself, a few minutes north, is the larger market town serving the district, while Bedford lies within easy reach to the west. The county boundary running just past Wyboston reflects the old division between Bedfordshire and Huntingdonshire before local government reorganisation folded the latter into Cambridgeshire. Visitors reach the area easily from the A1, which has shaped its development since the road era began.
