Burghill Valley Golf Club
Burghill Valley Golf Club lies a few miles northwest of Hereford, in the Herefordshire countryside that runs out toward the Welsh border. Herefordshire is one of England's least densely populated counties, dominated by farmland, orchards and the River Wye, with the Black Mountains and the edge of Wales visible from higher ground across much of the county. Hereford itself, the county town, sits on the Wye and serves as the main centre for the surrounding rural area, with roads radiating out through villages like Burghill toward the border country. This is traditional cider apple country, and orchards remain a working part of the landscape alongside cattle pasture and arable fields. The distance from any large city gives courses in this part of Herefordshire a quieter, more rural character than those closer to the West Midlands conurbation to the east, and the gently rolling terrain typical of the county shapes much of the farmland around Burghill itself.
