Cold Ashby Golf Club
Cold Ashby Golf Club takes its name from the village north of Northampton where the course is set, on open, undulating ground typical of this part of the East Midlands. The layout makes use of the rolling terrain to create changes in elevation across the round, with views extending over the surrounding Northamptonshire countryside from several of the higher points on the course. This is farming country on the edge of the county, away from the town centres of Northampton, Rugby and Market Harborough, giving the club a rural, open feel rather than the tighter, tree-lined character found on many parkland courses closer to built-up areas. The exposed, higher ground around Cold Ashby means weather and wind can play a noticeable part in how the course plays through the seasons. As a village-based club, it draws golfers from across the surrounding rural parishes as well as the nearby towns, offering a straightforward alternative to the region's larger commercial golf complexes. The combination of open countryside and undulating fairways gives the course a distinct identity within Northamptonshire's collection of golf venues.
