Cradoc Golf Club plays over 18 holes just outside Brecon, in the village of Cradoc in Powys, mid Wales. Powys is the largest county in Wales by area but one of the least populated, taking in the Brecon Beacons National Park, now also known as Bannau Brycheiniog, along with the Cambrian Mountains further north. Green fees at Cradoc are quoted between £45 and £50, placing it in the mid-range for courses in this part of Wales. Brecon, the nearby market town, sits at the meeting point of several main roads through the county, making it a reasonably central base for reaching the Beacons, the border with Herefordshire, and routes further west into Carmarthenshire. The surrounding landscape is largely upland farming country, with the Beacons themselves rising to the south of the town. Golfers travelling from the Midlands or south-west England can reach Cradoc via the A40, one of the principal routes across mid Wales.
