Donnington Grove sits on 500 acres outside Newbury, combining an 18-hole course with a hotel offering rooms overlooking the grounds. The course is one of three in the UK carrying DP World branding, and it comes with a floodlit driving range and an on-site pro shop for members and visiting golfers. The River Lambourn runs through the estate, feeding into the layout at several points and shaping the ground the course occupies. The land has an older history connected to Beau Brummell, the Regency-era figure known for setting the standard in men's fashion among London society of his day, whose name is tied to the estate. Today the club takes bookings from individual visitors, golf societies and corporate groups, along with residential golf breaks that pair a stay in the hotel with a round or two on the course and time afterwards in the bar and restaurant. Newbury itself lies a short distance away, a Berkshire market town with a long history as a coaching and market centre on the road between London and the West Country, and the racecourse for which the town is separately known sits nearby too.
