Glynneath Golf Club

🤍

Glynneath Golf Club is located in Neath Port Talbot, at the point where the Vale of Neath narrows into the southern edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, now also known by its Welsh name, Bannau Brycheiniog. The town of Glynneath sits on the River Neath, in the wooded, hilly terrain typical of this transition zone between the South Wales valleys and the open moorland further north. The M4 corridor lies to the south, connecting the area to Swansea, Neath and onward to Cardiff, while the Brecon Beacons themselves rise within a short drive to the north, offering some of the highest ground in South Wales. The location places Glynneath among a small number of Welsh clubs sitting directly on a national park boundary, giving the area a different character from the coastal clubs of Glamorgan further south. Walkers and cyclists exploring the Beacons make up a good share of the area's visitors alongside golfers travelling up from Neath and the wider valley towns.
