Harewood Downs Golf Club

Set in the Chiltern Hills of Buckinghamshire, this eighteen-hole course plays to a par of 69 from the white and yellow markers and 72 from the red. Every green on the property was constructed to USGA specification, and a programme of bunker work has seen forty of them rebuilt or shifted, with the architects Mackenzie and Ebert directing that renovation. Practice ground is generous, and PGA professionals provide coaching alongside an academy aimed at players new to the game. A pro shop operates on site. The playing calendar mixes formal club competitions with casual roll-up groups. Road connections put the course within reach of Uxbridge, Aylesbury, Beaconsfield, Chesham, Gerrards Cross, High Wycombe, Watford and the Chalfont villages, a spread of towns reflecting its position in the chalk country between London's western edge and the Vale of Aylesbury. Beech woodland and dry valleys typify this stretch of the Chilterns, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty whose landform has long dictated how courses in the district are routed.
