Hatfield London Country Club
Hatfield London Country Club is based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, a town that grew up around the Great North Road and later became known for its aircraft industry and new-town development in the decades after the Second World War. Hatfield sits within the belt of Hertfordshire countryside north of London, an area of farmland, woodland and country estates that has long provided space for golf clubs built on a country-club model, combining a course with wider leisure and function facilities. The town's position close to the A1(M) and within easy reach of the M25 gives it good road access from both London and the Hertfordshire towns further north, including Welwyn Garden City and St Albans. Hertfordshire's landscape here is gently rolling rather than dramatic, typical of the clay and chalk country south of the Chilterns, and has supported a number of established golf and country clubs built around former estate land in the twentieth century. The club's Hatfield location keeps it within a short drive of the wider London commuter belt.
