Hayling Golf Club plays over eighteen holes on Hayling Island, a low-lying spit of land off the Hampshire coast between Portsmouth Harbour and Chichester Harbour. The island's exposed, sandy position on the English Channel gives it the kind of firm, wind-affected turf associated with true links golf, terrain that is comparatively rare on this stretch of the south coast. Green fees at Hayling run from £145 up to £165, pricing that sits well above the county's more ordinary parkland courses and reflects the course's standing among Hampshire's links layouts. Hayling Island itself is reached by a single road bridge from Havant, and much of the island remains given over to beaches, dunes and nature reserves rather than housing, leaving the golf course within a genuinely coastal setting. Its position on the Solent, within sight of the Isle of Wight on a clear day, places it among a small group of true seaside courses on England's central south coast.
