Horne Park Golf Club

🤍

Horne Park Golf Club takes its name from the small village of Horne, tucked into the West Sussex countryside close to the point where the county meets Surrey, a few miles south of Lingfield and east of Godstone. This corner of the Weald is characteristically quiet and rural, a landscape of small fields, oak woodland and scattered villages rather than large towns, with the M23 and M25 corridors passing a short distance to the north. Being so close to the county boundary, the club draws players from both sides of the Surrey–Sussex line, an area better known for its horse racing at Lingfield Park than for golf. The Weald's clay soils and gentle relief shape much of the land around Horne, giving courses in this part of Sussex a green, well-wooded character distinct from the chalk downland further south toward the coast.
