Newport Golf Club

🤍

Newport Golf Club is based in Rogerstone, on the western side of Newport in south Wales. Rogerstone grew as an industrial suburb, historically associated with steelworks and, before that, tinplate manufacturing, and sits close to where the Ebbw Valley opens out towards the Newport plain. The wider area combines former industrial sites with pockets of older farmland and woodland along the valley sides, a mix typical of the fringes of south Wales's larger towns. Newport itself lies a few miles to the east at the mouth of the River Usk, and the M4 passes close to Rogerstone, making the club accessible both from the city and from the valleys to the north. The club's postcode, NP10 9FX, sits in this transitional zone between suburban Newport and the more rural Ebbw Valley villages further upstream, a setting shaped as much by the area's industrial past as by any natural landscape, common across much of this part of south Wales.
