Wales Newport

The Celtic Manor Resort Golf Club

🤍

The Celtic Manor Resort sits at Coldra Woods on the eastern edge of Newport, close to where the M4 crosses into Wales over the Severn, making it one of the first golf destinations travellers reach after entering the country from England. The resort is best known nationally for hosting the 2010 Ryder Cup on its Twenty Ten Course, an event that put this corner of Monmouthshire on the international golfing map. Newport itself sits on the River Usk close to its mouth on the Severn Estuary, an industrial and port town historically, and Coldra Woods occupies wooded ground above the valley on the city's outskirts. The NP18 postcode reflects this edge-of-Newport position, close to the motorway rather than in the city centre.
