Nottingham City Golf Club

Nottingham City Golf Club has played over its Bulwell course since 1910, making it one of the longer-established municipal layouts serving the city. Bulwell sits on Nottingham's northern edge, a former mining and hosiery district now absorbed into the wider urban area and linked to the centre by tram. The course runs to 6,097 yards against a par of 69 across 18 holes, a layout that reflects the flatter ground typical of this side of the Trent valley rather than the sandstone ridges found elsewhere in the county. As a city-council course it has operated as public golf for well over a century, giving Nottingham and its northern suburbs a long-standing option for a full round without private membership. Its Nottinghamshire setting places it within a county better known for Sherwood Forest's heathland courses further north, though Bulwell's own ground is very much urban parkland.
