Tall Pines Golf Club

Tall Pines Golf Club opened in 1989 as a par 70 course measuring 6,067 yards, set in rolling parkland at Backwell in North Somerset, roughly eight miles from Bristol city centre and about a mile from Bristol Airport. The free-draining ground gives views across the Bristol Channel towards the Welsh coast from several points on the course, a feature that sets it apart from many inland parkland layouts elsewhere in the region. On-site accommodation is available, making Tall Pines a practical base for society and corporate golf days that combine a round with an overnight stay rather than requiring visitors to travel elsewhere afterwards. The club welcomes visitors and societies through the week and at weekends, and a number of groups return to play the course on an annual basis. Its position close to Bristol Airport also makes it a convenient stop for golfers arriving by air or travelling through the wider Bristol and North Somerset area. Backwell and the surrounding villages sit in gently undulating countryside between Bristol and the Mendip Hills, and the course's parkland setting reflects that landscape, with mature trees and open fairways typical of courses developed in this part of North Somerset during the late twentieth century.
