Theale Golf Club

🤍

Theale Golf Club is based in the village of Theale, on the western edge of Reading in Berkshire, close to the point where the M4 corridor crosses the Kennet valley. The village sits near the Kennet and Avon Canal and the River Kennet, giving the surrounding countryside a mix of low-lying water meadow and more open arable land typical of this part of the Thames basin. Theale's position close to the M4 and the A4 has made it a well-connected part of west Berkshire, within easy reach of Reading town centre as well as Newbury to the west. The club provides a golf course serving the local area, drawing members and visitors from across the wider Reading district. As with several clubs positioned along this stretch of the Kennet valley, the surrounding landscape combines the practical convenience of motorway access with a more rural setting once away from the main roads. Theale village has retained a distinct identity despite sitting close to Reading's western fringe, and the golf club forms part of the recreational offer available to residents of the wider area, alongside the canal towpath and countryside walks nearby.
