Carus Green Golf Club

🤍

Carus Green Golf Club sits just outside Kendal, the Cumbrian market town often called the gateway to the Lake District thanks to its position on the A591 corridor into the national park. The LA9 postcode covers the southern approach to Kendal, where the limestone country of the Lyth and Winster valleys gives way to the fells further north. Kendal itself grew up around the wool trade and is built largely from the local grey limestone that gives the town its old nickname, the Auld Grey Town. Golfers at Carus Green are within a short drive of Windermere and the southern lakes, as well as the M6 at Junction 36, which makes the site a common stop for visitors heading into or out of the Lakes. The surrounding countryside is a mix of drumlin hills and pasture, typical of south Cumbria before the land rises into higher fell country further west and north.
