Dalston Hall Golf Club
Dalston Hall Golf Club is set in the countryside south-west of Carlisle, close to the village of Dalston on the River Caldew, in the flatter farmland separating the city from the Lake District fells further south. Dalston itself grew up around textile mills powered by the Caldew, and the surrounding parish retains a mix of pasture and arable land typical of the Cumbrian lowlands rather than the fells associated with the county further south. Carlisle, a few miles to the north-east, sits at the meeting point of the Eden, Caldew and Petteril rivers, and the CA5 postcode area covers this belt of countryside between the city and the Lake District's northern boundary. The M6 corridor runs close by, giving the area good road access despite its rural setting, and the gently rolling land here is more typical of the Solway lowlands than the steeper terrain further south around Keswick and the central fells. The area sees a steady flow of traffic travelling between Carlisle and the northern Lakes.
