Cathcart Castle Golf Club

Cathcart Castle Golf Club, established in 1895, is one of the older clubs in the Glasgow area and its 18-hole course was laid out by James Braid, whose parkland designs remain a defining feature of golf around the city. Playing to a par of 70 from the men's tees, the course includes six par-3 holes, giving golfers a reasonable number of chances to record a good score across the round. The back nine opens with a long par 4 that carries out of bounds down the right-hand side, a hazard that continues to threaten play through several of the following holes. The club welcomes visitors and societies throughout the season, with tee times bookable in advance, and it is often chosen for annual outings and corporate golf days on the south side of Glasgow. Buggies are permitted on the course, reflecting a layout that accommodates a range of golfers and mobility needs. As one of the area's established parkland courses, Cathcart Castle combines a straightforward, walkable routing with enough tactical demand from its bunkering and out-of-bounds stakes to test golfers of varying ability across all eighteen holes.
