Comrie Golf Club occupies a nine-hole layout in Strathearn, close to the village of Comrie in Perth and Kinross, and around twenty minutes from Gleneagles. The course was laid out by James Braid, working with the natural contours of the ground rather than reshaping them, and the routing still reflects that approach today, with a fairway near the finish descending gradually towards a green set in front of the clubhouse. Views open out across Strathearn and the surrounding hills from several points on the course, a feature that has drawn favourable comment from visiting golfers over the years, including former Scotland rugby captain Andy Irvine, who named it among his favourite courses after playing in 2018. Despite its modest length compared with championship venues, the club has built a reputation for a genuine and enjoyable test of golf, helped by the quality of the Braid design and the setting beneath the surrounding hills. Visitors are welcome throughout the year, and the club also offers catering and venue hire alongside its golf. For those looking for a shorter round without sacrificing the character of Highland Perthshire golf, Comrie provides a compact but memorable alternative to the region's larger courses.
