Glenisla Golf Centre

Glenisla Golf Centre lies in the Isla valley of Angus, close to the small town of Alyth on the southern edge of the Grampian foothills. The course occupies upland ground typical of this part of eastern Scotland, where farmland gives way gradually to heather moor and hill country as the land rises towards Glen Isla and the wider Angus glens. Open fairways and a moorland character define the layout, with the terrain offering views across the valley towards the hills that separate Angus from Perthshire further west. Alyth itself is a former weaving town with a long agricultural history, sitting at the point where the lowland Strathmore valley meets the higher ground of the glens, and the golf centre benefits from this transitional landscape, combining accessible, gently rolling holes with a backdrop of more dramatic upland scenery. The wider Angus glens, including Glen Isla, Glen Clova and Glen Prosen, are known chiefly for their walking and wildlife rather than golf, making Glenisla something of an outlier as a course set within reach of this quieter, more remote part of Scotland. The centre draws golfers travelling through Perthshire and Angus, offering a round shaped by its distinctive valley and moorland setting rather than a manicured parkland style.
