Mendip Spring Golf Club
Mendip Spring Golf Club lies at Congresbury in North Somerset, a village on the low-lying land between the Mendip Hills and the Bristol Channel coast. This part of North Somerset is characterised by the Yeo valley and the flat, drained levels that spread out towards Weston-super-Mare and Clevedon, land that was historically marsh and moor before centuries of drainage turned it over to pasture and arable farming. The Mendip Hills themselves rise a short distance to the south, a limestone ridge riddled with caves and gorges including Cheddar, and they mark the boundary between this coastal lowland and the higher ground of central Somerset. Congresbury sits just off the A370, within a few miles of Bristol Airport and around ten miles south-west of Bristol itself, making the club reasonably convenient for golfers travelling from the city as well as those based in the North Somerset towns nearer the coast.
