Golf was first played at Nefyn in 1907 after a meeting, convened perhaps not surprisingly for a golf club, at the Ty Coch pub on Porthdinllaen beach, set below what is now the spectacular 15th fairway which the expert golfer will have, of course, found with a 200 yard carry over the local Life Boat Station! Following this meeting a nine hole course was subsequently laid out and golf at Nefyn was born. Nefyn Golf Club used to be described as one of Wales best kept secrets, but today the secret is out and visitors from all over the world make the trip to this spectacular piece of coastline known as the Llyn Peninsula to experience not only the challenge of the golf course, but also the breathtaking scenery and tranquility of its secluded location.
Nefyn & District Golf Club plays over 18 holes. The club lists green fees at £79–£99. Prices shift by season, though, so check before you travel.
