Old Fold Manor Golf Club
Old Fold Manor Golf Club in Barnet was designed by Harry Colt, one of the leading golf course architects of the early twentieth century, and the layout has since been used for a number of significant amateur events. For several years during the mid-to-late 2000s the course served as a Regional Qualifying venue for The Open Championship, a role that reflects the standard of test it presents to competitive golfers. The club is also the South of England venue for the Faldo Series, the long-running junior golf competition, hosting young players working their way through that pathway. Beyond its competitive credentials, Old Fold Manor operates as an active members' club with a driving range on site, and it publishes regular updates on course and range availability along with guidance on trolley and buggy use as conditions change through the year. The club has also hosted county and national championships over the years, a further mark of its standing among Hertfordshire courses. Visitors are welcomed to play, with the Colt design and competitive pedigree giving them the chance to play a course that has tested some of the best amateur golfers in the region. For a club of its type, the mix of historic design and ongoing tournament use gives Old Fold Manor a stronger competitive profile than many comparable members' clubs nearby.
