Stover Golf Club
Although the present Golf Club dates from 1931 the origins can be traced back to 1894 when Major Harold St Maur created a 9- hole course on his own estate, which was interwoven with the Stover pheasant shoot. The present trolley shed was the pheasant-rearing shed! In 1931 work commenced on constructing a James Braid designed golf course at the present location. Situated very close to the A38 Plymouth Expressway and 3 miles north of Newton Abbot, Stover Golf Club is one of the most popular courses in South Devon. Visitors are most welcome and will appreciate the setting, warm welcome and friendly atmosphere of the Club.
