Taunton and Pickeridge Golf Club is the only private members' club of its kind in the immediate area, offering a full eighteen-hole course that remains playable throughout the year. The course uses blue, black and gold tees for its qualifying rounds, giving members a choice of markers depending on the standard of competition being played, while a buggy route across the course is available to all users. Visitor and society tee times are available on most days, including Saturday and Sunday afternoons, making the club more accessible to non-members than many private clubs that restrict weekend play entirely. This openness to visiting golfers and societies, combined with its status as a private members' club, gives Taunton and Pickeridge a position between the fully open pay-and-play courses in the area and the more exclusive private clubs that limit outside access. Taunton itself is the county town of Somerset, and the club's location nearby places it within reach of the wider Vale of Taunton Deane and its cluster of golf courses. Being playable year round, thanks to the condition of its main greens, the course offers a reliable option for golfers looking to book a round in Somerset outside of the traditional summer season alone.
