Torphin Hill Golf Club

In 1895 �The Edinburgh Establishment Golf Club Federation� was founded and originally played matches and outings on Edinburgh Public Courses. It was decided in 1902 by the Council of �The Federation� to take steps to acquire sufficient land for a private course. After much consideration it was agreed that the ground at Torphin Hill was the most suitable and work began immediately to lay out a course. On Saturday 4th April 1903 the course was formally opened but it was not until December 1905 that the club�s title was officially changed to Torphin Hill Golf Club.
